"No woman or girl should be held back because of her period"

We joined the team at Rumpus to create designs for Action Aid’s campaign, calling out for donations to help end period poverty.

The campaign aims to provide menstrual hygiene kits in Cox’s Bazar, one of the world’s largest refugee camps in Bangladesh. We got inspired by their beautiful patterns and different clothing wrap styles while designing the characters.

As the animation highlighted the global sharing culture of sanitary items, the storyboards focused on arms instead of full characters. We worked on showing diversity through clothes, accessories, skin tones and hand posing.

The campaign was planned to run on all social media platforms, so we had to make sure the designs worked across different formats, including banners for the Action Aid Website too.
