A series of playful loops where playground games act as musical instruments

Following the success of our first animation “Marching Band”, we created a second commission for Procreate using their new app “Dreams”. In our short film “Park Symphony”, a special musical is composed as characters jump and play around different games.

We wanted to keep the playful theme using musical instruments as our main inspiration. So we thought, what can be more playful than a day at the park? We took a stroll outside on a sunny day, took pictures of park games and worked on finding similarities between them and musical instruments.

This time, we kept the characters minimal and added details to the background elements to highlight the park theme.

In contrast to the previous musical piece where traditional instruments were used, in this film we explored more electronic and digital beats. We undoubtedly reached out again to Patrick Henchman for sound design, who made the whole animation and sound come together seamlessly.

Our animation was showcased at the procreate booth during “Playgrounds In Motion” festival in London, 2023 and 2024.
